LOCATION & ACCESS *************************** The River Club is located 18 kilometers/ 11 miles upstream from the town of Livingstone, Zambia and the renowned Victoria Falls. Set on 20 ha/ 50 acres of privately owned land, the lodge is located on a magnificent vantage point that provides stunning views over a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River. BY AIR: All flights arrive into Livingstone Airport. From here guests can be collected by The River Club’s private, air-conditioned vehicles for the 30 minute drive (distance in 26 km/ 16 miles) to the banks of the Zambezi River, followed by a 10 minute scenic boat transfer to The River Club. BY ROAD: The River Club is located 18km/ 11 miles upstream of the Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River outside the town of Livingstone, with easy road access into the lodge for guests arriving by road from other destinations in the area. ACCOMMODATION 7 x River Suites: All with views over the Zambezi River, twin beds (can be converted to Empire King on request),mosquito net, 2 bathrooms, air-conditioning/ heating, fan, digital safe, mini fridge, hair dryer, multi-national plug sockets. The suites are named after people who in their day played a significant role in the history of thevcountry. All are west facing and take advantage of the spectacular African sunsets. Each room is open-plan and includes reading lamps, a small library, writing desk and a sitting area. Large mosquito nets swathe the bedsvcombined with an electric fan and air-conditioner/heating units to provide a comfortable flow of air above the beds. Each room has a bath, shower, shaver socket and “loo with a view” overlooking the river. 2 x Luxury River Suites: These suites carry the same facilities and amenities as that of the Luxury suites. In addition they have their own private plunge pools on wooden decks set in private gardens. 1 x Luxury River Family Suite. The additional features of the family room include a second bedroom with twin beds an en-suite bathroom, as well as a private plunge pool. 1 x Princess Mary Suite: A double storey, private 2-bedroom unit in a secluded walled garden with its own swimming pool. Four adults can be accommodated in the two en-suite bedrooms, one situated on the ground floor and the other upstairs with a viewing deck overlooking the Zambezi River. Additional children's beds can be arranged in the lounge to accommodate a total of six guests. Both floors are air-conditioned and have Wi-Fi access. The ground floor comprises a lounge area, with a television and DVD player, library, bar and dining area for six people. Guests may choose to dine privately in the suite or join other guests at the main lodge. 2 Guide Rooms: Available for the use of tour guides or pilots, these rooms do not have river views. 1 double bed per room, bathroom with shower and overhead fan. GOOD TO KNOW ********************** Electricity – All rooms have electricity with multinational adaptors available on request Credit Cards – Visa and MasterCard accepted Disabled access – Two Luxury River Suites and the Luxury River Family Suite offer wheelchair access Weather: The winters are dry and warm to cool during the day but cold in the evening, spring is warm and cool in the evening, heating up to the summer where the temperatures remain hot throughout the day and night. The River Club is open year round. The Zambezi reaches its highest water levels during the months of March and April. Umbrellas and raincoats provided appropriate to weather and water level conditions Malaria: Yes – a low risk area Yellow Fever: No – vaccination no longer required Visa: Required for most passports. UNIVISA & Single Entry visa costs US$ 50 per person at the point of entry to Zambia. Please be sure to request a Univisa on arrival at Immigration. If not requested a single entry visa may be issued. The cost of a single entry is the same as a Univisa, which is required should guests wish to see the Falls from the Zimbabwe side. Please check with your local embassy well in advance of your time of travel.
